Denial Code CO-183: Revenue Code Invalid on Date of Service

What Does Code 183 Mean?

The revenue code is not valid for the date of service. Common on facility (UB-04) claims when the revenue code has been retired or is not yet effective.

Group Code CO (Contractual Obligation): The provider has agreed to accept the payer's determination. The patient is generally not responsible for this amount.
